Blog Posts
To view all blog posts, click the POSTS on the left sidebar.

Create Categories
You must create the category first before creating the post so that the category will show when you create a post.
To create a categories, hover your mouse cursor on the POSTS in the left sidebar. Another menu will show beside it. Click the CATEGORIES button.

This page will let you manage all the categories.
On the left side, you will see a form where you can add categories. The form consists of the following:
- Name – the name of the category
- Slug – also known as “permalink”, this should be the name of the category in small caps separated by dashes instead of spaces. (You can leave this empty. WordPress automatically generates this.)
- Parent Category – if you have an existing category, it will be shown here. You can select a parent category if it’s needed. This is useful when you have sub-categories.
- Description – just leave a brief description of what the category is about
Example:
Name = Yellow Drinks
Slug = yellow-drinks
Parent Category = Drinks
Description = A collection of drinks that are yellow in color

On the right side of the page, a table of all categories that exists in the website it shown. The Count column lets you know how many blog posts are under that category. If you click the number under the Count column, it will redirect you to the list of blog posts filtered by the category you selected.
To edit an existing category, hover your mouse cursor on the category name that you want to modify. Click the Edit button that will show under the category name. Then it will redirect you to the page where you can modify the category’s details.
To delete an existing category, hover your mouse cursor on the category name that you want to delete. Click the Delete button that will show under the category name. The Delete button will only show when there are no blog posts recorded under that category.
Create Tags
It is not needed to create tags beforehand but you can if you want. You can always add tags when you are creating a blog post.
To create tags, hover your mouse button on the POSTS in the left sidebar. Another menu will show beside it. Click the TAGS button.

This page will let you manage all the tags.
On the left side, you will see a form where you can add tags. The form consists of the following:
- Name – the name of the tag
- Slug – also known as “permalink”, this should be the name of the tag in small caps separated by dashes instead of spaces. (You can leave it empty. WordPress automatically generates this.)
- Description – just leave a brief description of what the tag is about

On the right side of the page, a table of all tags that exists in the website it shown. The Count column lets you know how many blog posts are under that tag. If you click the number under the Count column, it will redirect you to the list of blog posts filtered by the tag you selected.
The process of modifying and deleting a tag is the same with the categories page.
Create Post
Click the POSTS on the left side bar then click ADD NEW to create a new blog post.

Click the ADD TITLE and enter the blog post’s title.
Click the TYPE / TO CHOOSE BLOCK to enter the blog content.

When you click the TYPE / TO CHOOSE A BLOCK, a button will appear on the right side.
Click that button and it will show you a list of elements that you can add in the blog post.
When it’s a heading, please use the Heading element. If it’s a paragraph, then use the paragraph element. The same goes for the images, gallery, lists and others. You can click the BROWSE ALL button below to see all the elements that you can add inside the blog.

You can also view all elements by clicking the + button at the top.

On the right most side of the page, there are 3 important details you need to add:
- Categories – the list of all categories you added beforehand shows here.
- Tags – type to add the tag, the existing tag will appear, just hit enter to add
- Featured Image – if there’s no featured image, please look for a perfect image that is related to the topic. You can find FREE HD images here: Beautiful Free Images & Pictures | Unsplash
NOTE: When downloading an image, please open the image first to a new tab before download.


When you’re done, just click the UPDATE / SAVE button on the top.
Conclusion
You don’t need to worry about how it will look. The purpose here is to explore and use WordPress.
However, the way you lay-out the content is important such as the indents, spaces, or where the images should go. This will reflect on the website.
